The first nanowire array based solar cell utilizing amorphous Si. The paper resulted in a number of invited talks at major international conferences including: International Conference on Advanced Materials (ICAM) 2009, Sept. 20th -25th 2009, Rio de Janeiro; 4th IEEE International Nanoelectronics Conference (INEC) June 21st - 24th 2011, Taoyun, Taiwan; ICMAT 2011, June 26th -Jul 1st 2011, Singapore. It also led to the inclusion of a photovoltaics research theme in the Nanotechnologies for Energy research contract with Nokia (RG49302, May 2007 to August 2010, GBP757,126).
