This work advances MIMO radar by introducing a novel beamforming approach. The method is the fastest method for parameter estimation available to date in sensing problems for radar and sonar systems that require very fast training due to the short observation time and requires the lowest cost amongst the best known schemes. MOD CDE funded projects have resulted from this work, in the areas of MIMO radar and compressive sensing for underwater sensing.
