Spindrift

We would like this volume to be double-weighted. This seventy-five page book, containing 41 formally varied poems, represents a substantial contribution to contemporary poetry. The book was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation for Autumn 2009. Poems from this collection have been anthologized in the 2010 Harvard Anthology of Modern Irish Poetry. Spindrift was the centrepiece of a critical examination of Groarke’s work in the 2012 Oxford Handbook of Modern Irish Poetry and it featured in John Redmond’s Poetry and Privacy (2012). The unusual scholarly attention afforded a mid-career poet suggests a collection of lasting reach and depth.
