Nanoscale zirconia as a nonmetallic catalyst for graphitization of carbon and growth of single- and multiwall carbon nanotubes
The research reported in this paper initiated a collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Prof B.L. Wardle, e-mail: ID_in_audit_file@mit.edu) resulting in a joint NSF/EPSRC Materials World Network Grant ("Novel Catalyst Systems for Carbon Nanotube Synthesis and their Underlying Mechanisms", Oct. 2010-Aug. 2014, EPSRC EP/H047565/1, NSF Award no. 1007793, total amount GBP145k + USD300k). It resulted in 5 invited talks at major international conferences [MRS spring 2010, SPIE Optics+Photonics 2010, Diamond 2010, NASA International Workshop on SWNT growth 2011, MNC 2011].
